The Mariinsky Theatre, one of the most modern theaters in Russia and the Asia-Pacific region, was built for the 2012 APEC Summit. Located on a picturesque hill facing the Sea of Japan, the distinctive theater building features a panoramic glass curtain wall and has now become one of the famous tourist attractions in the Primorskiy Krai. The rich and colorful performances, the excellent acoustics of the theater, and the high professionalism of the actors have made the Mariinsky Theatre Binhai Branch one of the fastest-growing theaters in Russia and the Asia-Pacific region. In 2016, the Mariinsky Theatre Binhai Branch hosted the largest cultural project in the region - the Mariinsky International Music Festival of the Far East. Famous opera, ballet, instrumental, and other performers from Russia, Asia-Pacific countries, Europe, and the United States participated in this music festival. Based on the success of the first festival, it was decided to turn this event into an annual summer music extravaganza. The theater has three theaters: the Grand Theater, the Small Theater, and the Summer Venue. The Grand Theater is in the traditional Italian "horseshoe" shape, with four tiers of seats and a total of 1,356 seats, mainly for large-scale performances such as opera, ballet, symphony, and choir. The new stage fly system allows audiences to enjoy performances with the most complex technicalities. The light-colored wooden veneer and the theater's dedicated ceiling ceiling create a unique sense of lightness and comfort in the space. Valery Gergiev, Yuri Bashmet, Denis Matsuev, Maria Gulegina, Leonidas Kavakos, Vladimir Galuzin, Sergei Lefirkus, and other famous actors who have performed on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre Binhai Branch have highly praised the acoustics of the Grand Theater. The lobby of the Grand Theater has complete ancillary facilities such as cloakrooms, coffee bars, and art shops, which are also exhibition halls for various exhibitions. The Small Theater has a total of 305 seats and is used for indoor opera, chamber music, audience meet-and-greets and autograph sessions, children's educational programs, workshops, and other art categories. The green tone of the Small Theater creates a comfortable atmosphere, and its structure combines the stalls and balconies with the stage into a unified space, giving audiences a sense of being immersed in the performance. The Summer Venue can be used for free outdoor concerts (in spring and autumn)
